Highland Society for Blind People Mixed Open
Volunteer worker, Gillian Mitchell, part of Sight Action Highland, a group whose aim is to make life better for blind and partially sighted people in the Highlands had no trouble finding the winners of a golf competition held at the club last week to raise funds for the Group.
Robin Wilson and Elizabeth Grant playing in the Open Mixed Greensomes stableford competition with a card of 42 points were three point winners of the Margaret Adamson Trophy over Ronnie Sim and Elizabeth's mother Angela. Also with 39 points were non resident members, Lisbeth and Jerry Husband who were beaten into third place on the count back by Sim and Grant.
Robin Wilson became a double winner when his tee shot to the 13th green ended up closest to the pin and in the challenge shot to the final green for ladies Swiss visiting member Mena Burkard, who was partnering club President Robert Powell, was the closest.
From the competition entries and a sponsored raffle the Groups funds swelled by £500.
